Class times: EnChor East 8:00 pm; Seton 7:40 pm
Arrival time: 7:10 pm
Location: Life Branch Church, 10 Lancaster Drive in Dartmouth (near Micmac Mall)
A few other details:
1. Plan to carpool if possible. Parking was a challenge last year. Give yourself lots of time so that we have an enjoyable festival experience rather than rushed and frantic.
2. We will not have a warm-up room but will be able to line-up in our choir rows before entering the performance space.
3. Our choir will enter at the same time as Seton and sit as a group to watch the class. Seton will stay to watch our class.
4. Our songs are “Cantique” and “Skye Boat Song”
5. We wear all black concert clothes (including socks/nylons!) and one of the new scarves made by our fabulous Anna. These will be passed out at the venue.
I know it’s a lot of effort to get there on a non-EnChor evening. Thank you in advance! Hopefully this whole experience takes you back to your beginning years of choir 🙂
Plan ahead to do a complete warm-up before arriving:
– physical movement
– gentle tongue and jaw stretches
– breathing
– vocalization (humming, v, z, ng, slides, lip trills)
– vowels (no chewing vowels – keep them clean and clear)
– agility (faster notes, longer phrases, staccato vs. legato)
