Annapolis Royal Workshop Review

Hi everyone,

I just got in through the door and wanted to send you all a quick message. What a great day!! I hope you are the best kind of tired after singing and socializing and rehearsing and performing. We had perfect weather, a beautiful drive, lots of time to chat, a chance to meet and sing with new choir peeps, and lots of productive rehearsal. The performance at the end was a lovely way to finish our day together and a great way to spread the choir word with the community. It was like a whole choir trip in just one day. Well done, choir!

Thank you for your flexibility as we figured out the concert set-up. So many variables when you do these little pop-up performances and wow, did we have our challenges. Not only the tech gear and the difficulty in hearing each other outside, but the sun!! I don’t think I’ve ever conducted with sunglasses on. Ever. And trying to lead with one hand in the air and the other holding down my score so the pages didn’t get messed up? Good training exercises for us all 🙂

Let’s send out another thank you to Dean. For the whole day, of course, but mostly for keeping going after I turned the page TOO EARLY!!!! SO SORRY! In my defense, I was not really following the notes as I was trying to work with the wind while balancing on one leg. Not even kidding. Lesson learned, though – outdoor performances means scores go in a binder 🙂

Join me in sending out a BIG thank you to our new choir friends in Annapolis Voices, along with Beth and Andrew. I think you would agree that we felt so welcome in their beautiful space and community. Our choirs sounded great together and we can hardly wait to welcome everyone in Bedford in November. Fran Farrell. Christmas carols. It’s gonna be FUN!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend knowing that you did an awesome job today!
